SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS

I have over ten years experience teaching in two areas: American Sign Language and Theatre Arts. In the arena of ASL, I am certified by ASLTA to teach ASL 1 and ASL 2. In regards to Theatre Arts, I excel in teaching novices the basics of theatre and acting.

Provided classroom instruction in the Interpreter Training Program Classes taught were ASL, Voicing, Intro to Interpreting and Pre-Interpreting — for which I developed my own curriculum.
Adjunct FacultySo. Puget Sound College6/94 – 6/95
Provided classroom instruction for the Interpreter Training Program. Classes included Specialized Sign, Voice-Sign, Practicum and Mock Interpreting. Provided extensive record keeping for tracking the success of this new program.
MentorSeattle Central College1/94 – 6/95
Provided one-on-one mentoring for sign language interpreters in a post-secondary setting.

THEATRE ARTS
Actor / EducatorStory Station Childrens Theatre
Story Station specializes in working with teacher of children grades K–4 to teach children's literature and the life lessons which are reflected in the tales. Strictly followed the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) guidelines.
Educator: Acting/DirectingJewish Community Center
Taught a four week program in basic techniques to junior high school kids. Focus on warm–ups, concentration, and backstories for the role.
